Description

Hugues de Payens (c.1070-1136) was a French Knight in the Champagne region and was co-founder and first Grand Master of the Knights Templar. At the request of Pope Urban II he organized the original nine monk-knights to defend pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land.

His handsome sword measures 44"overall and has a silver finish with a fleur-de-lis embossed on the handguard. The scabbard is black simulated leather with red leather wrapping.
