Questions that we get asked frequently:

May I place my order over the phone?

No. Our merchant account (the company that processes our credit cards) does not allow us to do that. Once you place your order online, however, we are happy to have you call and give us your payment information over the phone, for those who are unwilling to enter credit card information over the internet.

My bank/credit card shows that I have two charges from Swords of Honor. Why is that?

This has become a common question as more people have access to their bank records online. The first item you are seeing on your statement is the authorization from the date of purchase. The second is the actual charge. (We only charge your debit/credit card when we ship your order, not before.) Both of these transactions have the same approval code. The approval code is unique and can only be used for one transaction. Your online statement does not make any distinction between a charge and an authorization. When your bank or credit card company updates your account and the second item becomes an actual charge in their system the authorization will disappear. This can take up to 5 business days, but usually is gone in about 3.

Do you have an item in stock?

We will not give out this information via emails or the phone. As serious retailers, we want serious customers. Place an order for the item you want and we will let you know within 24 hours whether it will ship immediately or is out of stock. There are several reasons for this, but the biggest one is: I tell a potential customer an item is in stock, but they don't place their order at that exact moment, someone else beats them to it and the item has sold out.

Are your swords 'battle ready'?

Some are and some are not. Each item will state if the sword is 'battle ready' or is made of high carbon steel (which is considered 'battle ready'). If the item does not say either of those, look back to the manufacturer's page and it will say there. For example, all of the Gen 2 swords are 'battle ready' - but each individual item may not say that it is.

'Battle ready' is a term used to indicate whether a sword may be used "in battle", but keep in mind that all objects made by the gods or men will break if used. Not just used incorrectly or used abusively, but used at all. Everything breaks. When you use your weapon, you may nick it or scratch it. This doesn't reflect on a sword's battle-readiness. Be as kind to your weapon as you would be to your horse. We of course offer a 100% warranty on manufacturer defects.

Are your swords 'full tang'?

There are myriad definitions of 'full tang' so we usually will not put that in the descriptions. Most of our swords are what our manufacturers deem as 'full tang' so we can't go into any more detail than what they give us.

Are your swords sharp?

Some are and some are not - it will be clearly stated on each item if it IS sharp or available to be sharpened. Many of our swords have a sharp 'tip' but the edge of the blade is not sharpened for a number of reasons. One reason is potential liability. Another reason is that a sharpened blade will more easily chip and crack than one with a slightly rounded edge. Any swords that ARE sharpened must be handled with care as they can cause harm. Please read our sword care and safety section for details.

What are you shipping costs?

Shipping costs are determined by weight of your order, where it is going, and shipping method selected. We only charge actual shipping charges. The site is linked to UPS, our only carrier, and the amount you agree to when you place you order is the amount UPS charges. We can not determine that over the phone or email, so you must go through our ordering process to determine these. You do NOT have to place an order - just go through the process to the 'select shipping method' page.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship to many countries using UPS only. If you have tried to place an order and the shopping cart will not allow you to complete your order, chances are good that yours is not a country we ship to. We do NOT accept credit cards on international orders (non USA). International orders must be paid using VERIFIED PayPal, money orders or bank wire transfers. We do not charge additional fees for wire transfers, but your bank might. It is your responsibility to check.

I ordered with 3 Day Select, it's day 3 and I don't have my order (or 2nd Day, or Next Day, etc.) - where is it?

Your order is processed the day AFTER you order and as long as everything is OK with your order (credit card verifies, item in stock, etc), you will have your order on the 3rd business day after the day you ordered it. Please remember, "business day" does not include weekends or holidays. If there is a problem with the payment method you used, we will call you and try to solve the problem as quickly as possible. We reserve the right to cancel the order or to hold it indefinitely if we cannot reach you or don't hear back from you. If the item is not in stock, we email to let you know and you have the option of waiting or cancelling.

Where is my tracking number?

When your order ships, you will receive an email telling you which items have shipped and the tracking number for them. If you receive an email without the tracking number, please feel free to call us or email us. If there is a problem with the payment method or any backorder issues that would cause a delay in shipping, we will contact you to resolve the issue before we ship. If the problem is not resolved, we will not ship the order.
