 | Roman Gladius Sword with Pompeii Blade | A classic Imperial Roman short sword, named for where an original was found in the ruins of Pompeii (reliably dating from 79 CE). Although the Pompeii blade is double edged, it does not have the distribution of mass to make it an efficient cutting sword. Our version features a full tang construction, high carbon blade, hard wood handle. High polished steel spacer at the bottom of the handle for strength and durability. A leather scabbard is included.
