This sword is a replica of the sword of Malta circa 1400's-1570's. It is named for the battle in which the Knights of St. John turned back a massive Ottoman flotilla. This carefully crafted sword includes a steel pommel with a deeply carved Cross of the Brotherhood that symbolizes their devotion and was a point of prayer to the embattled soldiers and a solid steel cross-guard. The blade is hand forged from high carbon steel blade. It is very well balanced and stiff. The grip is grooved wood and covered in fine . stitched leather. The scabbard includes a custom wood sheath that is covered in thick leather to match the grip. _
