Petticoat -- If you are not wearing pants you will probably need these! Our Cotton Petticoats go well with any of our open front dresses (like the Irish dress) or bodices. Get an extra petticoat and you can change colors whenever you please. Wear one, two, or three our 100% cotton petticoats are lightweight enough to be comfortable layered. The drawstring waist allows for fitting alone or over a chemise or other petticoats. By the end of the 16th century, the petticoat became more than just underwear to be hidden beneath a fine overskirt, it became an accessory to the gown. Petticoats were made with lace and ribbons attached and made of beautiful silks, brocades and velvets for all to see. Our Petticoats are made from soft cotton fabric that mimics the weave of linen without the expense; and feature delicate pleated ruffles on the hem that compliment our Ren Blouse or Ren Shirt. These are a full-length skirt pleated into a waistband with tie elastic waist for adjustability. Our Petticoats are made from a breezy open-weave cotton that looks very much like linen. These garments are all pre-shrunk and are colorfast. The cotton is much less wrinkle-prone than actual linen and is very soft against the skin.
