Description

The well known powerful Englishman Oliver Cromwell lived from 1599-1658. During and after the English Civil War he rose from the rank of Captain of Horse to Lord Protector of England. The sword he is said to have used in the Battle of Drogheda in 1649 is still incredibly well preserved. Today it is on permanent display in the collection of the Royal Armouries in Leeds . England. Due to the preservation of the sword . this Cromwell Sword is a precise replica of the original "mortuary" hilt style. The sword includes a blackened guard carefully decorated gold foliage and features a wire-wound sharkskin grip. Unfortunately . the original sword is currently without a scabbard . thus . our sword comes with a scabbard in the traditional design of the time period. This piece is crucial in remembering and telling English history and is an important piece for any ECW collector and reenactor.
