High grade ray skin is used on the tsuka while the tsuka-ito and sageo on all three pieces are woven from Japanese cotton. The tsuba of the Katana and Wakizashi is of blackened iron with a fantastic Orchid and Butterfly decoration inlaid in silver . brass and copper. Buffalo horn has been used on the koiguchi (scabbard mouth) and kurigata (cord knob). The fuchi . kashira and kojiri are made of bronzed iron with silver and gold detailing. One-piece of brass has been used to construct the habaki. The blades are ungrooved and the Katana and Wakizashi display medium-length Kissaki.
