Description

Each sword in our Orchid group (SH1207 . SH1208 . & SH1209) features a hand-forged and folded K120C power steel blade differentially tempered to produce an HRC60 edge . HRC40 back . and a unique hamon. The temper line or hamon is evident and prominent including grain pattern or hada with distinct layers. The Saya are deeply varnished in blue. High grade ray skin is used on the tsuka while the tsuka-ito and sageo on all three pieces are woven from Japanese cotton. The tsuba of the Katana and Wakizashi is of blackened iron with a fantastic Orchid and Butterfly decoration inlaid in silver . brass and copper. Buffalo horn has been used on the koiguchi (scabbard mouth) and kurigata (cord knob). The fuchi . kashira and kojiri are made of bronzed iron with silver and gold detailing. One-piece of brass has been used to construct the habaki. The blades are ungrooved and the Katana and Wakizashi display medium-length Kissaki.
