Practical Plus Tanto Japanese Samurai Knife

This Practical Plus Tanto (SH2259) cutting sword was designed with economy in mind . thus it was crafted with more traditional fittings and construction methods. The blade has been hand-forged with high-carbon steel and differentially tempered using a traditional claying method (HRC 60 edge . HRC 40 spine) with a medium (chu) kissaki. The hamon or temper line is evident and prominent. The Practical Plus Tanto features a flat black saya and a black Japanese cotton sageo. Genuine ray skin has been used for the tsuka while the tsuka-ito is black synthetic leather to provide a better grip. The antiqued fittings on this sword are feature a Japanese dogwood motif with an eyecatching antiqued black sunburst tsuba. This sword is very economical while still retaining its quality.
