Economical qualities were considered when designing this cutting sword with traditional fittings and construction methods. The Practical Plus XL Katana is intended for maximum cutting power in heavy targets . these Katana feature genuine Same (Rayskin) on the Tsuka . with a tightly-woven leather Tsuka-Ito. For security . the long tang is double-pegged. A Japanese Dogwood motif with dragon menuki decorates the fittings while the iron Tsuba features a "sunburst" design with a brass habaki.
