Description

The Viking Thrusting Spear was more often used than a sword due to being more economical to produce. The wings or lugs are Frankish in origin and limited the penetration of the weapon and provided an effective parrying guard. The Vikings' creative combination of art and war is evident in the decorated spearhead. Viking weapons often displayed intricate patters created using the "Niello" process. An alloy of several metals (notably silver) mixed with sulfur was rubbed into an incised patter and then fired to create a design. The location of the alloy remains black while the rest of the surface is polished for a clean finish. Today's decorating process is more technological but t still provides a lustrous permanent Niello-like effect. Our 005-IB ash poles are ideal for completing the thrusting spear. Customer Testimonials

I ordered a Zatoichi Samurai Sword and when it arrived i noticed the box had been damaged. After opening it, I found out that the sword had a 'ding' in it and was slightly bent. I called Swords of Honor and they immediately issued a call tag for UPS to come pick it up and sent me a new one (which arrived perfectly).
