Chippenham Type 1 -Size -3x0.8"Both the Chippenham and the Saxon style arrowheads were used for war purposes and for hunting game. They were popular throughout the medieval period. The Chippenham style head is a utility arrowhead in that it has some armor piercing capability it is fairly good at felling game. The Chippenham would be included into the barbed arrowheads because they are broadheads with long cutting edges even though they are not barbed.
